Pre-School Pre K Social Worker in Westland, MI

In this contract position, you’ll work two days each week with preschool-aged children, collaborating closely with a full-time school social worker. Qualifications:

• Hold a current Michigan School Social Worker Certification
• Possess a valid Michigan Social Worker License
• Experience working with pre-K or preschool children preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively in a school environment and as part of a student support team

Responsibilities:

• Support the full-time school social worker in delivering high-quality services to preschool students
• Provide direct social-emotional support to children, fostering positive development and addressing behavioral or personal challenges
• Liaise with teachers, counselors, and caregivers to coordinate resources and interventions
• Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education/behavior plans
• Maintain thorough and confidential records of student progress and interactions
• Assist with crisis intervention and implement strategies to promote safe, supportive learning environments
