An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade during an Extended School Year (ESY) program in Alexandria, VA. This contract position runs from July 7 to August 1, with preparatory days earlier in the month.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Special Education teaching license is required
- Experience working with diverse learners across elementary to secondary levels
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Engage students in learning activities that promote growth in academic and social skills
- Monitor and document student progress throughout the program
- Collaborate with other educators to ensure a cohesive educational experience
Location and Schedule:
- Alexandria, VA
- Contract duration: July 7 – August 1
- Daily hours: 5 hours for elementary students; 5.5 hours for secondary students
- Prep days: July 1, 2, and half-day on July 3
