A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a high school in Allentown, PA. This role is a contract assignment covering a maternity leave from November through January. Candidates holding Emergency Certifications are encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials or Emergency Certification
- Experience working with high school students in special education settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and special education laws
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and strong classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ individual learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive learning environments
Location: Allentown, PA
Duration: November through January (maternity leave coverage)
Compensation: $85-$90 per hour
