A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Anchorage, AK, supporting K-12 students across multiple grade levels and classroom settings. This contract position runs through the current school year, providing meaningful support to a diverse caseload of students with special needs in resource classrooms or specialized programs.

Key Details:

  • Location: Anchorage, Alaska (onsite only)
  • Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract Duration: Immediately through May 21, 2026
  • Caseload: Approximately 20-25 students for resource classrooms or 10-12 students for specialized programs
  • Certification: Must hold valid Alaska Special Education licensure

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized instruction tailored to the needs of students with disabilities
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive educational experiences
  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with state standards
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
  • Participating actively in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Alaska Special Education teacher certification and licensure required
  • Experience supporting students across varying grade levels and classroom types within special education settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage caseloads efficiently while maintaining high standards of instruction and student engagement
