Special Education Teacher in Anderson, IN

This opportunity is for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students in a middle school setting within Anderson, IN. The position focuses on working with a SCI classroom catering to students with Severe Cognitive Impairment, serving grades Kindergarten through 12th. This contract role is available immediately and runs through June 2, 2026, with a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the diverse learning needs of students with severe cognitive impairments
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Employ behavior management techniques, with preference for candidates trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, families, and support staff to promote student development
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and relevant regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Demonstrated experience working with students having severe cognitive impairments (SCI)
• Familiarity with CPI training and crisis intervention strategies is highly desirable
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
