This contract role offers a fulfilling opportunity to collaborate with a highly engaged team dedicated to helping students develop the skills needed for success both within specialized environments and as they transition back into general education settings.

What We’re Seeking:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education
  • Minnesota State Licensure required
  • Experience working with students with diverse disabilities—including Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) populations—preferred
  • Adept at behavior management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive reinforcements
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educational assistants, related service staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support a therapeutic classroom with a caseload of approximately 10 students, primarily in grades 2–5
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans
  • Guide students throughout their reintegration process into general education settings, monitoring progress and adapting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate closely with a team of 7 educational assistants and related providers to ensure high staff-to-student ratio and individualized attention
  • Maintain a safe, supportive classroom culture that encourages social-emotional growth and academic achievement
  • Partner with families, caregivers, and district professionals to coordinate supports and communicate regularly
