An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students in a K-12 setting through a resource classroom position. This contract role starts immediately and continues through May 22, 2026, serving students at a public high school in Arvada, CO.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist Endorsement (5-21).
- Candidates holding only travel, substitute, temporary, or interim licenses will not be considered unless they have applied for the required SPED license with endorsement and can provide proof.
- Strong instructional background working with students requiring specially designed instruction and supporting learners on alternative standards.
- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
- Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary IEP teams.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site commitment (no virtual or hybrid options).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students in the resource classroom.
- Participate actively in IEP development, review, and implementation.
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to support student growth and success.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching practices to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal and state special education regulations.
