A high school is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to provide specialized instruction in a life skills classroom. This contract role is in-person and focuses on supporting a small caseload of four students with individualized educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to four students with life skills needs, promoting independence and academic growth
- Collaborate with para-educators to ensure effective classroom support and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and support personnel
Qualifications:
- Valid Maine 282 Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience working with special education students in a life skills or similar classroom setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with para-educators and multidisciplinary teams
