Special Ed Teacher - Augusta, Maine

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support a life skills classroom at a high school located in Augusta, ME. This position is for the 2025/2026 school year and is a contract assignment. The role requires in-person teaching and offers a manageable caseload of four students, with paraeducator assistance provided in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students in a life skills classroom setting.
• Collaborate with paraeducators to support student learning and classroom management.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maine 282 Special Education Teaching certification is required.
