A school district in the Denver area is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to support K-12 students with diverse learning needs. These full-time contract positions (35+ hours per week) offer opportunities across several schools, including Rocky Mountain Elementary, Thunder Vista P-8, Century Middle School, and Thornton Middle School. Assignments focus on providing tailored support to students with affective needs, significant cognitive challenges, and learning differences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with disabilities in compliance with IEPs and state guidelines
  • Design and implement specialized educational plans to address affective, learning, and significant support needs (SSN)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and school personnel
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and success

Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience within K-12 special education settings preferred (0-10+ years accepted)
  • Ability to work effectively with students requiring a range of support, including behavioral and cognitive challenges
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to student-centered instructional practices

Contract Details:

  • Positions available from January 2026 through the end of the 2025-2026 school year, with some roles starting ASAP
  • Location: Schools in the Denver metropolitan area, including Aurora, CO
  • Caseloads vary by assignment, serving elementary to middle school students
