An established K-12 school in Aurora, CO, is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students in a Resource Classroom setting. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 22, 2026, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success within a collaborative school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs, utilizing research-based strategies and best practices in special education.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support alternative standards as needed.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary IEP teams to ensure student progress and compliance with educational guidelines.
- Maintain thorough documentation and communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement.
- Applicants with temporary, substitute, interim, or traveling licenses will not be considered unless a Special Education License with the correct endorsement is currently applied for and proof is provided.
- Extensive knowledge of special designed instruction, instructional strategies, and the IEP process.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working in a K-12 setting preferred.
- Candidates must be available for onsite work; this role is not open for virtual or hybrid arrangements.
Location: Aurora, Colorado
This full-time role involves 40 hours per week in a Resource Classroom at the high school level.
