Special Education Teacher in Aurora, IL

Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual IEP goals and aligned with state standards
• Establish a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Apply trauma-informed behavior management strategies to support student well-being and growth
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists, behavior specialists, paraprofessionals, and families to enhance student success
• Develop, review, and maintain IEPs, progress reports, and required documentation
• Actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Monitor student progress continuously and adjust instructional plans as needed

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience working with junior high students requiring academic support and therapeutic interventions
