An opening is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students with emotional disabilities, including anxiety, depression, school avoidance/refusal, and trauma backgrounds. This position serves students in grades 6 through 12 within a public therapeutic day school setting.

Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
Student Profile: Emotional Disability
Grades: 6th – 12th
Caseload: Maximum of 8 students
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with emotional disabilities
- Provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to help students manage emotional and academic challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors and therapists, to coordinate services
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff
- Manage classroom activities within a therapeutic day school environment adhering to established school hours
Work Hours:
- Staff: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM (includes a 30-minute duty-free lunch)
- Students: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for K-12
- Experience working with students who have emotional disabilities such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and school avoidance
- Ability to manage a small caseload with individualized strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
