Special Education Teacher - Bath, ME

A full-time Special Education Resource Teacher position is available in a school setting located in Bath, ME, serving students in grades 3-5. This contract opportunity involves supporting a diverse group of 20 students in reading, writing, and math, alongside case managing 15 students, including five receiving speech-only services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math to students with diverse learning needs
• Manage caseload of 15 students, coordinating individualized education plans and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with speech therapists to support five students requiring speech-only services
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student goals
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement, behavior, and communication with parents and staff
• Participate in team meetings, staff development, and planning sessions

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 3-5)
• Proven skills in resource room instruction and case management
• Strong knowledge of strategies to support students with diverse learning and communication needs
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Schedule and Location:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday
