A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support K-12 students, focusing on high school and transition-aged youth from 8th grade up to 21 years old. This role involves working closely with a caseload of approximately 13 students, supported by a dedicated team of 6 instructional assistants, providing comprehensive educational services tailored to individual needs.

Location: Beaverton, OR
Job Type: Contract, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Duration: Current School Year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying special education needs.
  • Collaborate with instructional assistants and other educators to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Address the educational, social, and behavioral goals of students on the transition caseload, aiding them in developing skills for post-secondary life.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.
  • Communicate regularly with families, specialists, and school staff to ensure coordinated support for each student.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Oregon Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement required.
  • Experience working with high school students and young adults with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage caseload effectively.
