A K-12 full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Big Lake, AK, supporting students in a variety of classroom settings. This contract position runs through the current school year, ending May 21, 2026. The role is onsite only, serving multiple grade levels with diverse caseload needs within special education programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students with special needs across resource settings and specialized programs
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students in resource classrooms or 10-12 students in specialized programs, ensuring compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports to support student achievement and program requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Alaska teaching certification and special education licensure required
- Experience working with a range of grade levels and classroom types within special education
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs and accommodations
- Ability to work full-time hours (37.5 hours/week) onsite with no remote or voiceover options
Location: Big Lake, Alaska (onsite only)
