A Special Education certified teacher opportunity is available in Billings, MT, serving grades 6 through 12 in a dynamic K-12 school setting. This contract-to-hire position offers a full-time, Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, following the academic calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students, particularly those facing mental health challenges.
  • Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate small caseloads ranging from 8-12 students, with some classes as small as 4-5, across a variety of subjects including Vocational Agriculture, Woodworking, PE, Art, Music, Business Education, Technology, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, and English.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in training and certification for Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), enhancing skills in de-escalation and safe physical intervention techniques when necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Special Education certification.
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively with students experiencing mental health issues.
  • Willingness to complete VIP certification through the training department.
