Special Ed Teacher | Bridgeport, Connecticut

A full-time special education teacher position is available to provide essential support and services in an elementary school setting serving grades K-5. This contract role runs from ASAP through June 2026 and requires a dedicated educator with school experience who is skilled in delivering both push-in and pull-out special education services.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction and support to students with special education needs
• Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications
• Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with IEP goals
• Participating in team meetings and parent conferences related to student development
• Managing an elementary caseload and adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in special education
• Prior experience working in a school environment, preferably with elementary-aged students
• Strong knowledge of special education methodologies and individualized instruction
• Ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
