A full-semester contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN. This onsite role involves working in a site-based program serving approximately 8-10 students with cross-categorical special needs, primarily focusing on behavior support for students with Emotional Behavioral Disorder (EBD).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing behavior strategies and individualized behavior plans
  • Delivering strong, effective instruction
  • Collaborating with special education and general education colleagues
  • Scheduling and working alongside paraprofessionals
  • Managing classroom structures and routines to support student success
  • Maintaining excellent attendance and professionalism

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education, with eligibility or licensure in one or more areas such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, or an Academic & Behavioral Strategist license (optional)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in behavior management and problem-solving
  • Experience working with behaviorally challenged students in an elementary setting
  • Strong collaboration skills with educators and support staff

Location: Burnsville, Minnesota
Schedule: Full-time, onsite, 37.5 hours per week
Duration: January 5 to June 4, 2026
