A unique opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support an elementary school site-based program in Burnsville, MN, specializing in behavior and cross-categorical needs. This leave contract runs from January 5 to March 6, 2026, providing a valuable chance to work collaboratively with a team of two other site-based teachers in delivering specialized instruction to a caseload of six to eight students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instructional support to students with diverse disabilities, including developmental cognitive delays, speech impairments, or mild/moderate needs.
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEP goals.
- Manage classroom behavior and support social-emotional growth consistent with best practices in special education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with families and staff.
- Participate actively in site-based planning and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education with one or more of the following endorsements:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Developmental Disabilities
- Early Childhood Special Education
- Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Learning Disabilities
- Or an Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (optional but beneficial)
- Experience working in elementary special education settings preferred.
- Strong ability to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities across multiple areas.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
