Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, MN

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a center-based program focused on autism and similar needs. This contract assignment runs from April 6 through the end of the school year and offers a full-time position in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to six students with autism and related developmental challenges.
• Managing a self-contained classroom environment that fosters growth and learning.
• Collaborating closely with a team comprising three special education teachers and five paraprofessionals.
• Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and tracking student progress.
• Maintaining communication with support staff to adapt teaching methods and interventions.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Valid special education teaching credentials with a focus on autism spectrum disorders or related areas.
• Experience working in a center-based middle school setting preferred.
• Proven ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to in-person instruction and student engagement.
