This position seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a specialized setting primarily within a three-room environment alongside a paraprofessional. The role is based in Burnsville, MN, and focuses on delivering individualized education plans to meet the diverse needs of students in grades 6-8. This contract opportunity spans the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate closely with related services staff to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Manage a classroom environment that fosters growth and learning for special education students.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies suitable for middle school special education learners.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold a Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education Special Education License.
  • Proven ability to write and implement IEPs.
  • Experience working in a middle school special education setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong collaboration skills with paraeducators and related service personnel.
