A Leave Contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher is available in Cambridge, MA, serving middle school students in a full-time capacity from November 5th to December 19th. This role focuses on grades 5th through 8th, providing specialized instruction in ELA and Math to a class of 11 students with moderate to severe special education needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored lessons in English Language Arts and Mathematics aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Managing classroom activities and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning requirements
  • Collaborating with school staff to support student progress and engagement
  • Monitoring and documenting student performance and behavior

Qualifications:

  • Special Education Teaching Certification with a focus on Moderate or Severe disabilities
  • Experience working with middle school students, particularly within the 5th to 8th-grade range
  • Proficient in modifying curriculum and instructional materials to support students' unique learning styles
  • Ability to maintain a structured, positive learning environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:05 PM. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a critical period of the school year in a supportive educational setting.
