Make an impact in an elementary special education setting, supporting students' growth and success during the 2025-2026 school year. Two contract positions are available for dedicated educators experienced in addressing a spectrum of developmental and mild intellectual challenges. This is a full-time, onsite role (37.5 hours per week), running from mid-November to late May. You’ll collaborate within a well-established team that values open communication and progress for every student.
What you’ll bring:
- Active South Carolina Teaching Certificate with multi-categorical endorsement
- Direct experience working in special education, particularly in developmentally delayed and mildly intellectually disabled (MIMD) settings
- Strength in managing and de-escalating behavior in the classroom
- Confidence leading a class of up to 10 students, supported by a paraprofessional
- Commitment to collaborative practice, including weekly PLC meetings with general education teachers
- Familiarity with IEPs and ED plans in elementary environments
- Ability to adapt and communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Role responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering individualized instruction and interventions
- Managing classroom behavior proactively and constructively
- Collaborating regularly with program directors and general education teachers
- Ensuring compliance with all IEP requirements and documentation
- Participating in monthly meetings and ongoing professional development
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture
