Special Education Teacher in Canyon Country, CA

A full-time Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year in Lancaster, CA. This contract role offers the opportunity to support K-12 students in developing essential social and emotional skills, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized SEL instruction tailored to K-12 students’ emotional and social development.
• Collaborate with special education and general education staff to integrate SEL strategies into the broader curriculum.
• Assess student needs and progress while adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning profiles.
• Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes student confidence, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
• Participate in planning meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities related to SEL.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential in Special Education or related certification.
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a special education or SEL setting.
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning frameworks and behavioral intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, student-centered learning environment.
