This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Special Education Teacher with a passion for supporting middle school students in a K-12 setting. The position is located in Southeastern Minnesota and serves 7th and 8th grade students with a variety of disabilities. The role offers a contract for the current school year and requires candidates to hold a valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to a total of 14 students across federal settings 1, 2, and 3, tailoring educational approaches to meet diverse needs.
- Deliver replacement instruction in reading, writing, and math while addressing individualized goals related to academics, social skills, and organizational development.
- Collaborate with staff and families to create supportive learning environments aligning with student IEPs.
- Manage classroom dynamics with a focus on effective resource and self-contained teaching practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license is mandatory.
- Previous experience working with middle school students with varying disabilities preferred.
- Strong skills in instructional strategies for reading, writing, math, and social/organizational skill development.
- Ability to work flexibly within designated school hours.
Schedule: Staff can select from one of three flexible schedules to best support their work-life balance: 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., 7:45 a.m.–3:45 p.m., or 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
