A full-time special education position is available for the contract period of November through February in the Chicago, Illinois area. This role focuses on providing dedicated support within an elementary self-contained classroom primarily serving students with Autism. The classroom maintains a small group setting with approximately seven students, allowing for personalized instruction and meaningful educational progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and adapt curriculum for Math and Reading tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained elementary classroom environment
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure consistent support for students’ academic and social growth
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to progress reports
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Special Education Teacher with experience in Life Skills instruction
- Experience working with students diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder
- Strong skills in curriculum implementation and IEP writing
- Ability to manage a small classroom and provide individualized attention
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

- Near Itasca, Illinois, serving an elementary public school in the Chicago metropolitan area.
