This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a resource classroom setting. The position is full-time and runs from ASAP through May 28, 2025. It is a contract role located in Chicago, IL, focused on delivering specialized instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with students’ unique learning goals
- Adapt lessons and instructional materials for students with disabilities in the resource classroom
- Monitor student progress and collaborate with general education staff and parents to ensure academic success
- Utilize behavior management techniques and foster an inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois
- Must hold Illinois Special Education Teacher Certification
- Previous experience with middle school students in a special education setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills and commitment to student growth
