Special Education Teacher in Chugiak, AK

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade in a public school setting located in Chugiak, AK. This contract role runs through the current school year with an end date of May 21, 2026, and requires onsite work only.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities across various grade levels and classroom types.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students if working in a resource setting or 10-12 students in specialized programs.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive education.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and administration.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Alaska Special Education teaching certification and licensure are required.
• Experience working in K-12 educational settings with diverse student populations.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, practices, and techniques.
