Special Education Teacher in Cicero, IL

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a resource role, primarily serving 1st graders. This full-time, contract position follows the local school calendar and is ideal for educators passionate about making a meaningful impact in an elementary setting.

Location:

• Vernon Hills, IL at an elementary school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for 1st and 2nd grade students with special needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress.
• Use differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education certification.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in grades 1 and 2.
• Strong understanding of resource room services and inclusive educational practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Work Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 3:15 PM
• Position duration: School year contract through June 2, 2026.
