Special Education Teacher in Clatskanie, OR

A full-time special education teaching position is available for grades 3-6 at a K-12 school in Clatskanie, OR. This contract role begins in January after the Christmas break and extends through the remainder of the school year. The position focuses on delivering resource support to a caseload of approximately 32 students, emphasizing key academic subjects and social-emotional skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Emotional learning, and Study Skills
• Support a diverse caseload of K-6 students requiring resource assistance
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to tailor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet unique learning needs
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and school personnel

Qualifications:

• Valid Oregon Teaching License with Special Education Endorsement required
• Experience working with K-6 students in a special education setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of resource-based instruction across core subject areas and social-emotional learning
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 32 students effectively
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Work Schedule and Location:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM
• On-site position in Clatskanie, Oregon
