Special Education Teacher - Cottage Grove, OR

Step into an impactful role supporting a diverse group of students as a Special Education Teacher for a contract position running ASAP through June 12th. Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education required
• Current, active teaching license in the state
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities, developmental delays, and Autism
• Comfortable assisting with toileting and personal care as needed
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to foster a positive learning environment and adapt to individual student needs

What You’ll Do:

• Manage a classroom of 32 students with varying abilities and needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom staff, support personnel, and families
• Deliver differentiated instruction and adapt lessons to meet emotional, academic, and behavioral needs
• Provide direct support to students, including occasional 1:1 assistance and daily living support
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere
• Maintain progress records and complete necessary documentation
• Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed

This full-time contract offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, with workdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and a half day every other Friday—supportive of work-life balance within the school setting.
