An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students with emotional disabilities in a full-time capacity. This contract position spans the school calendar year (CSY) and is located in Crown Point, IN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with emotional disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records according to state and federal regulations
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student development and needs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-12 students, specifically those with emotional disabilities
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create adaptive instructional strategies
- Knowledge of state special education laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
