This part-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year at a high school located in Danbury, CT. The role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 12-15 high school students, grades 9-12, with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure student success.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and the special education director.
Schedule Details:
- Mondays: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Wednesdays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Fridays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM *Please note that the schedule may slightly change in January to accommodate class shifts.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in special education.
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and student needs.
