This part-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year at a high school located in Danbury, CT. The role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 12-15 high school students, grades 9-12, with individualized education plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs tailored to each student’s unique needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and the special education director.

Schedule Details:

  • Mondays: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Wednesdays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Fridays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM *Please note that the schedule may slightly change in January to accommodate class shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in special education.
  • Experience working with high school students in a special education setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and student needs.
