Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to students with affective needs, significant cognitive challenges, and general learning difficulties.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s strengths and goals.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to create inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress, adjust strategies as needed, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CO DOE) certification in Special Education required.
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings; range of experience welcomed from entry-level (0-2 years) to veteran educators (10+ years).
- Ability to address diverse needs including affective and significant support needs.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
Assignment Details:
- Contract duration: ASAP start through end of school year 2026, with specific assignments varying by school and role.
- Locations include Rocky Mountain Elementary, Thunder Vista P-8, Century Middle School, and Thornton Middle School.
- Full-time schedule, typically 35+ hours per week, on-site in the Denver metropolitan area.
