Special Education Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

An Illinois school district is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students across K-12 grade levels. This contract position covers the upcoming school year and requires a candidate with experience managing IEPs and providing resource support in a special education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs across K-12 caseloads
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to state guidelines
• Collaborate with general education staff, families, and specialists to promote student growth and success
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with district and state policies
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports all learners

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Special Education teaching credentials
• Proven ability to perform all essential duties of a Special Education teacher
• Experience managing resource services and caseloads across multiple grade levels
• Strong work ethic, growth mindset, and positive attitude toward student achievement and professional development
