An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary school students in Des Plaines, IL. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Monitoring and assessing student performance and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with special education regulations and standards
- Creating a supportive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional growth
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the relevant grade levels
- Experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting
- Strong understanding of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
