Special Education Teacher in Eden Prairie, MN

A Special Education teaching opportunity is available for K-5 students with Autism and cognitive disorders in an elementary school setting. This contract position, located in Eden Prairie, MN, focuses on supporting complex learners in enhancing academic performance and developing essential functional, adaptive, and social/emotional skills. The classroom consists of approximately seven students and three paraprofessionals, creating a collaborative environment for individualized instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with Autism and other cognitive challenges
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to support students’ academic and developmental goals
• Foster communication, functional skills, adaptive behavior, and social/emotional learning within the classroom setting
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize educational outcomes

Qualifications:

• Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education Special Education License
• Experience working with complex learners, particularly students with Autism and cognitive disorders
• Ability to develop, write, and implement IEPs effectively
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary educational teams
• Commitment to fostering adaptive, functional, and social/emotional development in students

Location: Eden Prairie, Minnesota

This contract position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $40 - $45, along with health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additionally, there is a 401(k) option available through Principal Financial.
