A full-time early childhood Special Education Teacher position is available at a school in Elgin, IL, for the current school year on a contractual basis. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse disabilities and learning needs through direct instruction, accommodations, and adherence to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs for assigned students
  • Delivering direct instruction in academic and functional skill areas
  • Differentiating instruction and adapting curriculum to accommodate individual student needs
  • Collaborating with general education teachers to promote inclusive classroom environments
  • Collecting and reporting data on student progress toward IEP goals
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents and guardians
  • Participating in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and ongoing professional development
  • Supporting classroom behavior management through positive behavior strategies

Qualifications for this position require:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
  • Valid Illinois early childhood teaching license with Special Education endorsement (LBS1)
