Special Education Teacher - Elizabeth, NJ

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher in an elementary school setting located in Elizabeth, NJ. This role focuses on supporting students with special needs by providing tailored educational plans and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction as necessary
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student performance and behavior
• Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current with best practices in special education

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs
