Special Education Teacher in Fitchburg, MA

A school in Fitchburg, MA is seeking Special Education Teachers for K–1 sub-separate classrooms and high school resource rooms on a contract basis for the current school year.

For the K–1 sub-separate position, the teacher will work primarily with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, providing individualized instruction tailored to their unique needs. Responsibilities include supporting communication and social skill development, collaborating closely with staff and families, and helping students achieve their IEP goals.

The high school resource room teacher will deliver targeted instruction to students requiring assistance, manage IEP case load responsibilities, and support student progress in both specialized and general education settings. This role emphasizes collaboration with educators and monitoring progress towards student goals.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license with appropriate state certification
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred (for K–1 role)
• Experience with high school students preferred (for resource room role)
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
