ELA Special Education Teacher in Florence, KY

A middle school special education teaching position is available for the current school year in Florence, KY, focusing on 7th grade ELA with co-teaching responsibilities. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work closely alongside the same co-teacher throughout the day, supporting approximately 15 students with mild to moderate needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Co-teaching 7th grade ELA classes to support diverse learners
• Providing targeted resource minutes to students requiring additional assistance
• Collaborating with the co-teacher to plan and implement instructional strategies
• Monitoring student progress and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
• Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Engaging with students in-person from 7:40 AM to 2:40 PM

Qualifications and experience desired:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education and/or English Language Arts
• Experience co-teaching at the middle school level preferred
• Strong understanding of strategies to support mild to moderate special education students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in an in-person setting
