A middle school special education teaching position is available for the current school year in Florence, KY, focusing on 7th grade ELA with co-teaching responsibilities. This full-time contract role offers the opportunity to work closely alongside the same co-teacher throughout the day, supporting approximately 15 students with mild to moderate needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Co-teaching 7th grade ELA classes to support diverse learners
- Providing targeted resource minutes to students requiring additional assistance
- Collaborating with the co-teacher to plan and implement instructional strategies
- Monitoring student progress and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Engaging with students in-person from 7:40 AM to 2:40 PM
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education and/or English Language Arts
- Experience co-teaching at the middle school level preferred
- Strong understanding of strategies to support mild to moderate special education students
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in an in-person setting
This position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year. The schedule is full-time with consistent hours to foster strong teacher-student relationships.
