A full-time Special Education Resource Teacher role is available in a school setting located in Gardiner, ME. This position focuses on supporting students in grades 3-5 through specialized instruction in reading, writing, and math. The ideal candidate will manage and educate a diverse group of 20 students while serving as the case manager for 15 students, including those with speech-only services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized instruction in reading, writing, and math to students requiring special education support.
  • Managing and coordinating education plans for 15 students, ensuring their diverse needs are met, including those with speech-only support.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to maximize educational outcomes.
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation in compliance with special education regulations.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Certification in Special Education.
  • Experience teaching grades 3-5.
  • Strong knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with varying learning needs.
