Special Education Teacher – Resource Room (2 Onsite Positions)
Location: Grand Blanc, MI (Serving Flint, Lansing & Detroit Areas)
Duration: 2025-2026 School Year (Approx. 01/26/2026 – 06/12/2026)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week
A K-12 school district is seeking experienced Special Education Teachers to support students primarily in self-contained classrooms with caseloads up to 22 students. These positions require onsite availability and comfort working within urban school settings. Candidates may serve Early Learning (pre-K) through grade 12, with caseloads varying.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs, including those with Emotional Impairment (EI) and Cognitive Impairment (CI).
- Manage self-contained or resource room classrooms effectively, maintaining individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress tracking.
- Collaborate with school staff to provide appropriate resources that address the unique needs of urban students and families.
- Ensure adherence to Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and federal IDEA regulations.
- Engage in remote interviews and comply with district policies and expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
- Endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Early Childhood (MDE endorsement ZA), or Learning Disabilities (LD) for resource room roles.
- Familiarity with challenges faced by urban students and knowledge of resources to support their success.
- Strong understanding of MARSE and IDEA compliance.
- Ability to work full-time onsite with flexibility and commitment for the school year duration.
