Middle School Special Education Teacher in Hamden, CT

A full-time Middle School Special Education teaching opportunity is available for two licensed professionals committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role involves working within middle school special education classrooms, delivering tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to middle school students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to support student success
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting teaching methods to maximize learning outcomes
• Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
• Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and collaborate on educational strategies

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education (SPED) licensure for middle school
• Experience working in middle school special education classrooms
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive education
