Special Ed Teacher | Hampton, Virginia

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year, serving middle or high school students in an inclusion classroom setting. This role involves working collaboratively with general education teachers to provide tailored support and instruction for students with special needs, ensuring their academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Provide differentiated instruction and classroom accommodations to meet diverse learner needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student development and inclusion
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with stakeholders
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with middle or high school students in inclusive settings
• Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and accommodations for students with disabilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and create an engaging learning atmosphere
