Special Education Teacher in Hampton, VA

A Special Education Teacher position is available for an elementary school setting working with K-5th grade students in a resource inclusion classroom in Hampton, VA. The caseload includes approximately 18 students, with paraprofessional support available. This contract role requires 35 hours per week and focuses on implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with related services staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with special needs in a resource inclusion setting.
• Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Serve as a case manager to coordinate services and communication among staff, students, and parents.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to support student progress.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia teaching license with Special Education endorsement required.
• Experience working with Early Childhood and Lower Elementary (K-5) age groups.
• Demonstrated ability to write and implement IEPs and manage caseload responsibilities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate services.
