A Special Education Teacher is needed to provide autistic support instruction for students in grades 9 through 12. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 2, 2026, in a high school setting located in Harrisburg, PA. The role requires onsite presence to deliver personalized educational services within the autistic support classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for high school students with autism
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies to support students’ academic, social, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student learning
- Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement
Qualifications:
- Full Pennsylvania Special Education licensure (Instructional I or II) is required; candidates who can obtain certification prior to the start date will also be considered
- Experience working with secondary-level students in autistic support settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills essential
