A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher to support a self-contained SEL program at a middle school located in Watertown, CT. This role is ideal for educators committed to fostering inclusive classroom environments and delivering personalized learning experiences. The program serves approximately five students, offering a focused, supportive setting conducive to student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique learning needs
- Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Facilitate social-emotional learning (SEL) to promote positive behavior and interpersonal skills
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all regulatory requirements related to special education
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working in a middle school setting, preferably with self-contained classrooms
- Strong knowledge of SEL principles and strategies
- Ability to manage a small group of students effectively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time contract position for the current school year (CSY)
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:40 PM
- Located in Watertown, Connecticut
