Special Education Teacher in Hayward, CA

A school district in California is seeking a dedicated full-time Special Education Teacher to support Kindergarten and 1st grade students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting for the remainder of the upcoming school year. Responsibilities include:

• Providing tailored instruction and support to K-1 students within the SDC
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
• Collaborating closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel
• Supporting academic, social, and emotional growth of students
• Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education laws

Qualifications:

• Active Special Education teaching credential valid in California
• Experience working in an SDC or similar setting preferred
• Strong classroom management and effective communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school teams
